A Miami bound American Airlines jet changed course to Turks and Caicos Islands after a passenger alerted the flight crew that she had a pistol. An embarassed Liz Williams, a businesswoman in the Caribbean islands state, told the crew that she had accidently packed the pistol in her carry-on luggage. She did not have to pass though airport security at Providenciales. The passenger had a worried look on her face when she told the crew according to another passenger. The plane returned to Providenciales and arrived in Miami three hours late.
