Looking up flights from LGA-ATL, I happened to see on July 13, US Airways flight 1617 operated by US Airways Express-MidAtlantic Airways, from PIT to ATL, using the Embraer 170's, departing PIT at 12:10 pm, and getting into ATL at 1:54...is this to say that US Airways has started loading up MidAtlantic flights into the schedule, with the actual intention of flying those planes on those days?
Edit: Apparently, the flight begins on April 4...

I think it should be a go this time. Embraer had a large pow-wow a week or two ago and announced that certification should be obtained by the end of this month.

B747-437B: That was TransAtlantic Airways, not MidAtlantic, and nobody that I know of suggested CLT-CMN...

PIT-SYR, PIT-ALB, and one or two more were mentioned in another thread a week or two ago...maybe PIT-BTV or PWM? I remember looking at SYR and ALB and was surprised to see that they replaced ERJ-145 service, not mainline flights.

I'm just surprised that they would have MidAtlantic flights loaded into their schedule, and not have the smallest announcement of it, especially when they seem to tout their once-weekly service from Charlotte to (insert Caribbean city here) and New York/Boston to Las Vegas service (which lasted about one week), and every single minor schedule change...

The routes beginning on April 4th are:
PHL-MCI/SYR
PIT-ALB/ATL/BOS/BNA/EWR/SYR
I'm the expert on here on two things, neither of which I care about much anymore.

I haven't heard any other routes for sure, but I would expect that the EMB-170 will be flown to former mainline cities (like CLE/MKE/STL), existing small mainline stations (like DTW/YUL/YYZ), and from PIT to some large markets (like EWR/MSP/MSY). I believe they're also planning to add capacity and/or frequency to upstate New York markets to compete with B6, and to shorthaul WN markets to compete with WN. I have not heard anything about possible EMB-170 flying out of CLT right now.
I've also heard that it appears that the EMB-170 will be used on existing markets, and that the CRJ-700 will be used to open new markets. This will allow them to open a new market (say SAT or AUS) at Express payrates instead of at MidAtlantic payrates.

A330-Didn't I hear that the massive CRJ-700 order was scrapped entirely, or was that just an a.net rumor (or a massively insane vision I had while asleep several nights ago)

There was a rumor floating around on a.net about the CRJ-700's, but they should still be coming. US has some issues to work out with its pilots, and a few issues to work out with PSA's pilots, but PSA should start receiving 25 CRJ-701's as soon as next month. I don't believe that US still has any significant pilot issues with the Mesa CRJ-701's. Mesa is scheduled to operate between 25 and 55 CRJ-701's for US, but I don't know when those are supposed to arrive.

Mesa's 700's are comming. We currently are getting one plane a week, but since we code share with 3 airlines we have to put the planes where they are called for first. I believe that the 700's are mostly going to HP first then US, but I also hear that UA is supposed to get a decent amount of 700's from Mesa also. Ahh!! I don't know, we hear something different each week as to where they will exactly go and when. All I can really confirm is that Mesa will be flying a good amount of 700's for US in the near future.
