Hello all!
I am planning to use my Mileage Plan miles on Alaska Airlines for a free ticket to coach. I have already flown flown 6 times on BA/NW/KLM and the rest fly into LGW(CO) with only option of flying on AA. I need your recommendation on which would be the best routing with largest number of stops and different aircraft type and which airline would be best (I haven't flown on AA!)
Thanks for all your help!

What about SJC-YVR AS 15,000 miles
YVR-JFK CX 35,000 miles
JFK-LHR AA 40,000 miles
TOTAL- 90,000 miles. IS IT WORTH IT. Spending 90K instead of 40K from US to Europe? Just to try different airlines/aircraft?

That is completely not worth it! Come on, you're trashing two round-trips to Europe to make one! Wait, so are you using your Alaska miles to go to Europe? Or what?

Couldnt you try using some miles to take a different airline to Asia in addition to Europe?
Its long enough to get to LHR from out here on the West Coast without havng to add on stops and segments. And the more you add on, the more likely things will go haywire. What about getting a comfy business class seat long haul and trying that out?

If you want to experience something nice and spend 80-90 thousand miles, see about flying BUSINESS class SFO-LHR.
