The Older The Plane, The More Comfort?

Why are older planes such as the 733 more comfortable than newer planes such as the 737 or 738? I flew on an Air Sahara 733 and I noticed that it was much more "better" than the 738. Any thoughts?

I am not sure I can agree with a Carte Blanche statement like that. I have flown on some older DC-9's that were horrific to sit on. As much as I don't like Airbus', the most comfy coach seat I have flown on was AC's 330's.

Whats in terms are you regarding comfort? Seat width or pitch? It all depends on the airline in terms of comfort seat wise. It all depends on how many people they want to fit onto that particular plane.

well...i was talking about how soft the seat is...cushion and such. The 733 had a lot of cushion...it felt like sitting on pillows, where the 737 felt like i was sitting on a rock.
