Hooray for DFW! Great to hear. Hopefully with the new international terminal (D) opening up next year, China Eastern or some other Asian carriers will look to start passenger service.

As a big DFW fan, this is great news.
DFW does get a few MD-11s now and then, but it's all cargo. Eva Airways and UPS are the usual operators, but there will also be an occasional World Airways or Lufthansa cargo flight.
From what I understand, DFW is working hard to get Eva to start passenger service after the International Terminal D is complete. Their cargo operation has been very, very successful, but I don't know if this will translate over to the passenger side. Rumor has also centered around Cathay Pacific due to their oneworld presence, and now I'm sure China Eastern will be on the list. But if this happens at all, my money is on Eva.

Yeah this has been known since November. We do get FDX's MD-11s and EVA Cargo, and UPS MD-11's, it will be nice change though.

Yeah dude, what's with the ambiguous title?!? This was announced about 3-4 months ago that China Eastern is starting the cargo service but it's definitely a good thing. My question is when are they going to start it up? I thought they orginally said mid-February but I don't know now.
SHURSH Concorde. It's gonna take more than a DFW story to get me revved up, although I did get really excited when I saw that title.

SSides, have you heard anything else about Eva and pax service? I heard some rumblings this past summer but haven't heard much since. I'm not going to beat this topic into the ground (any more) like every topic on this forum, but I heard from a few different sources about Eva and their plans. Seems they could try a combi service since their cargo business is growing about 30% annually.
I haven't actually heard any rumours about CX but I think everyone assumes they'll look at DFW like you said, because of the Oneworld ties.

I haven't heard much about Eva except that DFW wants them to start pax service. While I'd love to see it, I don't exactly see where the pax would come from. If Eva has some combi pax-freighter aircraft (which I doubt), I could see them flying 3-4 times a week to TPE, but only after the new International Terminal D is complete.
Personally, I don't think DFW would ever get service from both Eva and Cathay. I doubt the market could support both. Given Eva's cargo presence at DFW, they are the clear bet. They'd definitely have to codeshare with AA, and coordinate the schedule in order to get passenger feed from Chicago, Washington, Miami, and maybe Atlanta. As much as I love Dallas, I don't think it alone could provide the O&D necessary to maintain the flight.

Eva has been on and off about starting pax service to DFW, its been this way since they started cargo service here. I think they did actually fly a combi for a while to DFW but switched it straight to cargo.

EVA operates several B747-400 Combis. You may see EVA operate PAX service from DFW as they get some smaller equipment to operate international services.
KE (passenger service) operates B777s during the low season and sometimes B747-400s during high season to Incheon. However, you have few connections to Asia. Flight arrives in ICN late afternoon.

KE took the 744 out of DFW over a year ago. They haven't flown it back since.

i highly doubt that you will ever see EVA operate DFW. For one thing demand is not really there to begin with. Also the 744 will be leaving EVA fleet in about 2-3 years as 777 are delivered. EVA is doing fine with AA connection in DFW.
However, you might actually see CI from taiwan serving DFW in not to distant future. CI has been very interested in flying to DFW via Seattle. And it was rumoured that CI would begin service next year.
