With a name like that, I am surprised we don't hear much about them.

Are their finances healthy?
Have they brought all the 727's they bought from UA to service?
Do they have a chance to make it in the long-term?

Any comments appreciated!

I would imagine they are doing ok, otherwise there would be no point in them staying in business. I dont think anyone outside of the company knows about their finances as they are privately held. The reason I think they are doing ok, is that it seems as if they have settled on some routes and they have been sticking with them. In the past they flew to Gary and St Louis, but those services were very short lived. Also I doubt they face much comptetiton because they fly some interesting route pairs. I believe their website is flypanam.com for more information. I thought I would mention that this Pan Am has nothing in common with the old, expect for the name.

Looking at their website, flypanam.com, I wonder more about what they're doing. It looks like an airline for golfers going to Myrtle Beach!

The flights out of Sanford to the Caribbean do very well...regularly sold out. The PSM-SFB flight has been hanging around since the airline started flying again in 1999, so it must be holding its own at least.

As a former Flight Attendant for Pan Am, I thought I would never say this, but I hope the current PanAm DOES NOT MAKE IT.

Just lots of great memories from the "good ol' days".

Why is that NWAFA? Why should they not make it? I think you owe us a little explanation.
Thanks.

Im coming from the legacy of it. All the Pan Am routes (the real pan am) have been sold off to different carriers. Tens of thousands of Former PanAm employees are at different carriers. Seeing PanAm flying into the small little airports makes it sad to see.

There are still thousands of us that PanAm owes money to that they did not have to pay.

NWAFA and I finally agree on something. PAN AM of today isn't the PAN AM we dinosaurs remember. Its a group of people that bought the logo and name and started an airline. They thought the name alone would bring them fame and lots of $$$$$$$$. Its not working like they planned.

Hello NWAFA..See ya in March...three or four times if you're out of DTW......

If two people agree on EVERYTHING, then one isn't necessary.

NWAFA,

Yes it is sad that the original Pan Am is not around anymore. And sad that this one is only flying to the little airports, as you say.

But I think you should be more careful when you wish for an airline to go out of business. This would mean you wish hard working employees to be furloughed as well. As a former PA f/a, I am sure you know how hard it is to lose a job you love.

Regards.
