There is an a/c parked at a gate in T5, and the photo is reported to be a recent photo. There is only one a/c, I guess it could be a charter, cargo, or just a remote stand position. There are no jetways it appears in T5, however, as they may have been decommissioned at the closure of the terminal (I am speculating on that).
It is the aircraft with the whole terminal to itself.
I can't determine what a/c it is, looks Boeing, possibly a 767, 757, or possibly 777 as the tail is pronounced.
There does not appear to be any ground equipment close to the aircraft, which leads me to beleive it is being stored or overnighted.

as you may know that a lot of airlines use the old TWA terminal as aircraft parking areas. Especilly private 737s and 727s. BA used to park the concorde there. Now they ethier park there 767,777,or 747s there over night for the realy moring flight. UAL parks there 757s, and sometimes there 777s and 747s.
Jet Blue usees it the most to park extra planes.
thet will change when Jet Blue buys the terminal...... but will they now since they got awarded the gates at LGA. Is the future of Jet BLue at JFK in jeperdey??? we will soon find out.

AlitaliaMD11: crazy speculation on your part. Jet Blue already said that they will utilize LGA to just add some more capacity in the NYC market where it would be hard to do in JFK while they build their new terminal and move operations there. Anyway a major carrier like US would have to give up a good number of gates and slots just for Jet Blue to have a focus city in LGA.
