This is really weird. This guy said he was kidnapped by Al-Qaeda, called his wife on a Royal Air Maroc flight from JFK, and said he was kidnapped by Al-Qaeda (and was seen earlier trying to buy some stuff from a hardware store in New York). The plane landed safely at BGR to remove the passenger and then continued to morocco.

How likely do we imagine the kidnapping scenario to be ? Al-Queda kidnaps the guy, and load him onto a commercial airliner with 79 other pax and crew, where all he has to do is shout "help help I'm being repressed - come and see the violence inherent in the system" and people will rush to his aid. Could he not perhaps have informed, say, the check in agent, or the TSA guy who searched his handluggage, or the CSA who took his bp at the gate, the FA who met him in the doorway ? Was he duct-taped and rolled aboard in a REALLY big wheelie bag ? Was he tied up, gagged and covered in a burkah ?
