DEN-Things Heard While Landing

What are some funny things you hear when you land in DEN? On about 90% of my flights, there is usually some audible comments, and if you have been there and aware of its total LACK of surroundings, you would understand these:

--where are we?
--(on approach from the east, turning north) ooh, look at the buildings over there! WAIT! why are we turning away?
--this cant be denver, there are no buildings!
--are you sure we landed in denver?
--why have we been taxiing for 25 minutes?
--well you can bet it will be a cold day in hell before i fly this airline again! (any guesses on which airline?  Smile )

plus some annoying girl singing 'rocky mountain high'

Yea, I hear comments from time to time when landing at DIA

My response is: "The airport is so far away from Denver they had to annex part of Kansas"

I think several people believed me.

Well, as a general rule for anything in eastern Colorado from about September to April , you can always get a laugh with some sort of comment about Mad Maxx or any sort of post-apocolyptic wasteland image.

So true. My first time into the new DIA a few years back, I thought we DID land in Kansas. It's a superb facility, though.
