Lufthansa's brand new A330-300s will begin services with the airline on the FRA-CAI route from 16/03/04 on their daily flight LH588. The A330-300s will be configured with only Business and Economy Class.

That's very true. Recently I flew with BA on their LHR-CAI-LHR route with a B747-400. Their First and Business class cabins are very big, configured with 14 First class and 70 Business class sleeper seats which were almost all occupied. Unless Lufthansa offer a larger, more superior Business class cabin they may loose a lot of business. Though they may have noticed this and reversed this decision as Fly-K claims.

the A333s were always intended to be equipped with both First and Business Class. as was already stated, the Middle East, which seems to be the prime destination for the A333s, is one of the regions with relatively healthy First Class bookings, so it would be surprising if LH wouldn´t equip them with First Class.
however, when Horus first established this thread, i checked LH's online booking engine and i was puzzled when i found that at least at two of those FRA-CAI-KRT flights, the booking engine stated the aircraft as A330-300 but no First Class available. on the other two flights, the booking engine seemed to work properly and showed First Class available.
there was no such mishap with the FRA-CAI-ADD flights, however.
seemed to be a computer glitch, who knows.
