German Media is reporting that Thomas Cook is thinking about renaming Thomas Cook Airlines (powered by Condor) in Germany back to Condor.
It's not official yet but it looks as if they realized that it was a bad idea renaming a well known brand.

I will not know how much $$$ they blowed to rename Condor into Thomas Koch, now they can spend additional money to rename it again, what a bunch of morons.

Anyway, I am glad that the name Condor is back.

Changing Condor was a horrible move, and glad to see it (allegedly) reversed.  Big thumbs up

Additional Info:
Name will be Condor again, but the TC logo on the tail will stay.

Having worked for a tour operator that used Condor, I have to say it is good to see it going back, and it was a bad idea to ever change it in the first place.....

Will the Tail sty blue???

I think the Thomas Cook logo on a yellow "Condor" tail would look even nicer  Wink/being sarcastic

The TC logo on the tail will stay? Strange, because there are already three A320s (CD, CF, CH) in interim livery which used to have the TC logo stickered on the tail, but now they have the Condor logo on the tail again:

All three photos were taken quite recently (in February 2004).

I also hope they will repaint the tail with the Condor logo. But it looks as if they have to keep the TC logo somewhere. But I agree, it shouldn't be on the tail.

Repaint the whole aircraft into Condor colors and then put a Thomas Cook logo on a small sticker at the front doorway.

Well the best would be if they do it the way they used to have it before they painted their planes into Thomas Koch and that was to add the TC ugly sticker up front below the cockpit windows. Just about the size of the Star Alliance Logo.

Anyways good news that there will finally be a Condor again.

They should have done all the a.c in Thomas Cook c/s. Much better than that horrid Condor livery  Sad

I agree with a poster above...get the Condor brand back out there again along with their simple bu tlovely paint scheme and just slap a Thomas Cook sticker next to the door.

That would be a perfect place to put a (very small) TC-sticker!

Now who would have thought that top management is capable of reversing grave mistakes they have made before? With the ousting of Mr. Pichler and his equally incapable cronies, Condor is now hopefully again on the way to recovery.

And I just have to stress Patrick's (Sabena332) point again: I wonder how much money they blew out for such a moronic decision to rename one of the most respected brands in the German leisure market into the idiotic "Thomas Koch"?

Some of those marketing idiots deserve a swift kick in the A$$. Good to see that some common sense is coming back here.  Smile
