Virgin Atlantic and British Airways are in a
bidding war for the UK low fare carrier CityFlyer.
Don't ask me why? Maybe one of you know.
Also Virgin Express Stock has been doing
real well and it could be a sign of things to
come as rumbles from Branson's office are
now starting to be heard. I guess he wants
some changes.

I can't see BA as a chap low fair carrier, although I can see Virgin having one, likes it EXPRESS. But good luck to them both. I belive British airways 747 will have something to say about this, seeing he was originally VIRGIN ATLANTIC and is now VIRGING ATLANTIC.

British Airways already has a low-fare carrier, it's called GO.

Cityflyer is a BA franchisee and is, according to Flight Intl, the second largest carrier in London-Gatwick with 12% of all slots, so this might be valuable for Virgin. For BA it might be important to get a hold on Cityflyer because otherwise they might lose the feed. BA and Cityflyer had already agreed on price: £75m
