Guys,

I was just riding around Las Olas Boulevard watching some senoritas when I decided to head over to the viewing area at FLL for a little while. Around 17.55 I hear the ATC say: Continental XX, hold position, 747 on final 3 miles out....

Everybody there did a double take and looked west....indeed you could see the huge figure nearing....turned out to be Corsair's F-GSKY. Awesome to see it here....definitely not a usual sight.  Big thumbs up
So, is it bringing tourists for Caribbean cruises or what?
Can anybody get me the schedules for Corsair arriving/departing flights in FLL?

i already posted on this...
http://www.airliners.net/discussions/general_aviation/read.main/1430367/

I did the same thing 10 miles out...I missed the call due to a sick passenger was on another plane landing and they clogged up the scanner!

but i was shakeing like crap when it came by...my first 747 EVER!

I checked and they do not even fly to the US! How lucky I was!

what I want to know is did anyone (spotters, ATC, or other pilots) do anything special or out of the ordinary when the plane landed? Where did it park?
NOTE...IT FOLLOWED A FEDEX MD10 IN!

Too funny!!!!!!!

"I was shaking like crap when it came by"

OMG! I remember when my dad (ex FAA) used to take me to work with him and we would enter airport property I would start to hyperventilate at the site of the Eastern L-1011's and such.
Dad thought that was soooo funny! His little daughter shaking and hyperventilating at the sight of aircraft! LOL!
Memories!!!

Thanks!

Hey Flairport  Smile

I am giving you all that!

I remember the feeling! At 31 yrs old and working for an airline for the past 7 years, I only wish I still shook at the sight of a 747.

Actually since its so rare to see one at TPA I do get fairly excited about a 747 still  Big grin

N754pr,

it most definitely depends where each person is....you would see 324 Song, 645 Southwest, 762 Delta and 422 Jetblue flights here at FLL.....nothing bigger than a 764....so you see a 747 IS a big thing, especially because this runway is not all that long.
