Well, I doubt that we'll see a Dash8 in LX-Colours... I'm sure it will only carry "Operated for LX"-titles! But I'd love to be proved wrong on this one....

Cirrus is already operating a Dash8-300 for FlyBaboo Airways from GVA to LUG. They started operating after Swiss pulled out.
The aircraft is in FlyBaboo colors, with a big "A Breath of Swiss Air" sticker near the pax door. They operate with Cirrus pilots and FlyBaboo f/a's.

Swiss is currently operating with a special temporary authorisation by the FOCA. The airline is allowed to fly the Saab and the Avro into Lugano until June 2004. After that, a new solution is needed, as both types are no longer certified to operate out of Lugano, and there is no other type in the fleet is capable to fly to that airport.
That's why they are starting to work with Cirrus now. By the way, according to Swiss, all crew on these flights will be from Cirrus, including F/As.

Personally, I am not too pleased with this. But for once, I think it is not the fault of the SWISS management. I used to fly the Saab 2000 and was based in LUG. I flew the ZRH-LUG route a few hundred times at least. Of course, I also flew other routes, but being based in LUG we flew between those cities a lot.
Anyway, I think it sort of stinks that for years and years LUG was operated safely with the Avro and SB-20 and now the BAZL finds it necessary to ban the two types. I really wish I knew why.
I feel pretty jealous that I lose my job and now my job is being done by pilots from another company. I am not mad at them, but the whole thing stinks somehow.....
