Last December I took advantage of DL/AV codeshare agreement; I flew with Delta to JFK (stop in Atlanta) and came back to BOG on AV from JFK, it was a great deal since I wanted to stop in Atlanta but there were not seats available on DL but I could take the direct flight on AV as a Delta customer, it was good, also because AV gave us bussiness class seats!!!

I think this has been around for a while.
Even after the agreement, DL moved their flight to depart a little bit later from BOG to ATL, at 9:30 rather than at 8:20 as it was initially programmed. This decision was taken in order to allow all connecting passengers in feeder flights to arrive at BOG from all over Colombia without losing their DL flight.
As a side note, I just read that Avianca is launching their new "Buy 1 round trip in business and your companion will travel free by your side".
Any person can have access to this benefit, on any DOMESTIC route, until April 30th.
Now you don't hav to worry about who's going to be seated by your side in your next business trip.
