Anyone know if Bush will be arriving in SJC on Air Force One or Marine One tomorrow? (I think he is coming in from Bakersfield).

Regards...

It would be fun to be in that viewing area just south of the airport. I think that may very well be HEAVILY patrolled prior to his arrival!

It's not official - in fact there are signs about no parking, stopping, standing, etc. Here's a shot from overhead. It's at the far end of the park, near that storage company. There's a circle where you can park and you are right in line with the end of the runway. Find the storage buildings that are closest to the airport and look at the corner farthest from the camera. In fact, that whole park area is not bad and it all has the signs saying don't hang out there... but that may be for reasons other than the airport.

InnocuousFox, can you mark the location you mentioned on your photo? Is the storage building located on the eastern side of 880?

BTW, my favorite spotting location at SJC is from the parking lot of San Jose State Univ Aviation Dept (not sure about the department name) just off Coleman Ave on the west side of 880. You can see arrivals and take-off roll on rwy 30. I believe the parking lot is restricted on weekdays, but on weekends it's empty.

Here are some photos I took from that location:

Why's the President going to SJC? Normally they go to Moffett Field and then helicopter to whereever they need... hard to think he needs to appear at SJC.

It would be cool if AF1 came here though -- we could get some great pictures from our office.

Dude... extend the centerlines of the two runways across the highway. Right between them are two batches of storage rental units... lots of long skinny buildings. And the far corner of the right set (closest to the airport) you can see a circle for turning around.

Sllevin.... good point. She actually landed in Moffett Field, came in right over US-101. She's parked there now.

Air Force One was followed by a Blue Moon A319 carrying the media.
