Well, to my surprise, I saw an MD-88 in the old widget colors on Saturday. It was just after sunset, so it was hard to see, but I think it was N906DE.

A few weeks ago, I saw a widget at MSP. We had been getting interim and wavy planes for a long time. I got really excited, it was N903DE! Seeing a widget made it a really special day. Now, it seems we get the widget planes here every weekend I am there. Perhaps the wavy tail is the special one! DL is playing with my emotions!

I can confirm that 691 is still in the widget colors. Saw it today from the employee bus on the way to work.

5 MD-90s left in the Delta widgets? You've got to be kidding me! Just 3 months ago, nearly all of them were widgets! And there are no 757s left in the widgets! I could have sworn seeing a photograph of one dated just a few weeks ago! Wow, it's going fast! Now only for the Ron Allen colors, which I will miss almost as much as the widgets, but the Deltaflot colors are grand
*By the way, Airlinelover, the widget is this Delta livery.

These on your list I'm showing as done:
680,9003,9208,9209,359,363 is stripped and still in the hangar.
691 is due in for paint on the end of the month. Also it shows 976 to still be in Widget colors. 363, 332, 365, and 213 should be painted by the end of the month.

So, can we have a big announcement when there's only one left? Isn't DL 75 anniversary (pax flying) in June? That would be a good day!

The widget scheme on aircraft doesn't look good right now because it has not been refreshed and cleaned up on the aircraft it still wears. It definently shows its age (Sigh*) If only they would polish the metal belly again so it could shine, and repaint the aircraft in fresh widget colors...then the widgets would still be appreciated. Back in the 1990s and 1980s, the widget scheme looked much better on aircraft because it was more fresh and the aircraft were newer. It doesn't look horrible right now...but I just feel it's time to move on the widget scheme seems dead already...it's so rare. And knowing that there is no way to stop the change contributes the most to me feeling it's time to move on. But the Ron Allen colors and the Deltaflot are great liveries...they are not exactly classic and as creative as the widgets, but they are excellent color schemes.

I saw a Delta MD-90 at O'Hare just three days ago. It was still wearing the widget scheme, it was something special to see because I knew there were not that many widget left these days. At first sight I thought it was an MD-88 but after it pulled out of the gate I saw it had the thick V2500 engines, that's how I realised it was an MD-90.
