Last summer (July 03) I managed to spot at 4 airports in a single day (all intl).
Has any body done anything similar?

Not including when I have flown somewhere with multiple stops, I have done 3. I was able to get San Francisco,San Jose, and Oakland done in one afternoon with at least 1 hour at each.

Because of time zones, all of this was on the same date:

NRT-LAX-DFW-HOU-SAT (had 2 hours at LAX, 1 1/2 hours at DFW, 2 hours at HOU)

On the same day last year, I spotted at
NCY - LFLP Annecy
CMF - LFLB Chambéry
LFLE Challes les Eaux
LFLG Grenoble le Versoud
GNB - LFLS Grenoble Saint Geoirs
LYS - LFLL : Lyon Sait Exupery
LYN - LFLY : Lyon Bron

That's 7 airports, trip was by car. 7 airports in the same day. Who tops me ?

A few weeks back, I flew Challes-Chambery-St Etienne-Roanne-Villefranche-Bron-Challes (flew and landed the first 3 legs, was just a pax on the other two) - oh, and we overflew LYS that day (2pics from that overfly in the dB) plus a few other airfields that were rejected.

I'm not plugging though, it's getting late...

Well.....mine includes an asterisk inasmuch as it happened over approximately 34 hours but here goes: (Sep 22/03-Sep 24/03)

YYZ (2 hours)
EWR (6 hours!!!)
AMS (1-1/2 hr)
SIN (1-1/2 hr)
BKK (30 minutes was enough -- sick of a/c and airports by that time!)

Saw some pretty amazing stuff at those different international airports to be sure!

Most I've done without hopping on a plane was 3:

MSY
GPT (only traffic was an ASA CRJ, the rest was C-130s)
MOB (a Delta 737 and ASA CRJ made up the traffic)

Not too uncommon for me to do both BOS and MHT on the ground in one day.

With hopping on a plane, I've done MSY, CLT, RIC, DCA, and BOS all in one day...that was a good day, picked up about 300-400 tail numbers there.

I might end up doing BOS/MHT/ATL/MCO/SFB in a 24 hour window next month (not sure on the BOS/SFB part, but I will be spotting at MHT at the rousing hour of 0530ish, in time for the first 2 departures to PHL and CVG), doing spotting during my three hour layover at ATL (I've already counted, there will be about 300 different planes for my spotting pleasure, including those elusive AirTran 320s and CRJs (at least for those of us from New England)), and for an hour or two at MCO.

Last January, I spotted DFW, MEM, GPT and Baton Rouge in one day. Flew Northwest from DFW to MEM, Northwest/Maseba from MEM to GPT, drove from Gulfport to Baton Rouge and took American Eagle from Baton Rouge to DFW.
