Must be for the rugby VI nations cup. Probably French fans. Expect them as well soon at Liverpool, for the Liverpool-Marseille match....

I was born in Luton and raised in Dunstable untill 1996. That was probably the most interesting plane I've seen there bar Concorde. It's a cool little airport but there are too many orange LCC's now. I preferred it when Britannia and Monarch ran the show.

I do agree there is way to much orange there now, but they still get there fair share of BY, MYT, MON but way to much U2 and FR lol

I can confirm a Corsair Boeing 747 flew over Hemel Hempstead Town Centre at 12:32pm, my jaw hit the ground when I see it, I had to look twice, I remember Concorde at LTN what a sight that was when departing for the bay of biscay

Let us also revel in the fact that it used to be N123KJ - a former Boeing 747-312 BIG TOP operated by Singapore Airlines Limited! Hoorah!

Kaz --> I live in Grovehill but work in the town centre

They are the 2nd and 3rd 747s to visit Luton this year, around a month/6 weeks ago, an Atlas Air Cargo 747 was at Luton to ship a spare engine to Palma a stranded airliner, I believe it was a Britannia.

Never made it to LTN today, sorry!!!

I like to classify LTN as my local, but I live in Brackley, Northamptonshire so I am almost equal distances to EMA and BHX to.

But as when I was younger we almost always exclusively flew from LTN on our holidays, the airport has a place in my heart!

I agree there is far to many easyJet at the airport, I even see them flying over Brackley as we seem to be under some major flight path up to Scotland. Correct me if it's wrong, I think it's called the Daventry Triangle by ATC.

Do you remember the good old Yugoslav charter flights with the likes of Adria, Aviogenix and JAT. They use to add some colour to the airport!!! I have the oportunity of flying on JAT DC-9 in 1988, JAT 737-300 in 1989 and an Adria A320 in 1990 (Leased from Cyprus Airways). I can't see any pics but I think Aviogenix use to operate their TU-134's and 727's into LTN at some point back in the 80's.

I want to Balkan holidays operating from the airport flying Bulgaria and getting a glimpse of their TU-154's, that would make a rea change! They seem to operate from about every other airport.!
