Hey guys, I'm just wondering....If I wanted to get an AA Award ticket with my 25,000 miles to SAT from SAN....Is there anyway I can change the routing so that I could go from SAT-ORD in the morning....spend a whole day with some family and then go on from ORD-SAN on the same day on a later flight? If not, is there a cheaper way of doing this? Thanks!

It depends on whether or not AA permits enroute stopovers on their award travel tickets. ORD is listed in the routing guide for AA's fares in the SAT-SAN market, meaning they should allow you to connect through there...but stopping there for more than four hours may not be allowed.
