George W Bush is coming to my town (BayShore)this Thursday! I am so excited!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Now the question. Will he fly Air Force One to JFK? Then take his motorcade out to my humble little town? He won't fly Air Force two will he? ISP is much too small and has a runway that is too short for a 747 or 757 to land or take off. The more I think of it we stand a really good chance of seeing him land at ISP in that great big helicopter he has. Someone shed some light on this! I am proud that GWB is coming here. For you Long Islanders it's in today's Newsday! Hail to the Chief!

I would guess he is flying into a nearby AFB and then taking Marine One in.

Actually I just found out he arrived today! He flew into Westhampton's airport way out on the eastern end of Long Island. I am still trying to find out what aircraft he used. If someone knows or has something to add please let's hear it!

The President has never taken Air Force 2, as any aircraft he is on will be known as Air Force One......be it the VC-25 down to a Piper Cub. If its a quick in and out trip he my just fly up in one of the Gulfstreams or use the 757 and fly into ISP.

My friend's mother works right next to the airport where he landed, She is not 100% but she thinks it may be a private jet, she is going to do a little snooping tomorrow. I wonder where he is staying? I am very honored he is on Long Island!

EMBQA:

Only if the Piper Cub belonged to the Air Force. If privately owned, it would be Executive One.

Sounds doubtful. His trip on Thursday is supposed to be a quick ceremony and fund-raiser, with no overnight stay. The aircraft seen at FOK today probably was carrying some members of his advance party, possibly Secret Service.
As for Thursday's trip, I know that for some of Bush's trips to NYC, he has flown AF1 into McGuire AFB in New Jersey, then helicopter. Maybe that will happen again.

Very true, plus I forgot about Republic airport which would make the most sense for him. It's literally 5 minutes away from the business he is visiting and both the airport and business are right off the southern state parkway. Which makes his entry and exit quick and easy.

When Bush visits town, he lands at JFK. They park the 747 next to the old TWA hangar and Marine One flies him to Manhattan. If he is going to NJ, he lands at EWR.
When he went to Greenwich a few weeks ago, he took the 757 (also designated as AF ONE with him onboard) into Westchester.
One more thing, I work (fly) at ISP. The runways are long enough to handle a 757 anyday. Runway 6-24 is over 7000 feet; that's longer than LGA.
