While I think it is baffling that the ATSB would agree to this, this is good news US and also for UAL. It says that the ATSB are willing to really be flexible in helping out the bankrupt airlines possibly at the expense of the healthier ones.

US Airways received this loan to emerge from Chapt 11, and here were are not even a year later and they are already changing the payment rules as things are clearly not going well for them at all.

If US is getting this kind of latitude, it bears well for UAL getting the billions that they are asking for also.
