Hi everybody,
Any idea when we could organize this years spottersmeeting at 25L?
I think the Easter holidays are this year from the 5th to 18th April. Any other date later on the year is also welcome.
I am just curious about knowing which date would be the best for you.
If everybody gives up a couple of dates I am sure we will manage to find a date (or even maybe two dates) where we all can meet again. (In April-May-June or whenever).
New things to spot at BRU since a couple of weeks and for the coming months are:

Glad to see you back online, MD-11er! Hope that the laptop-problems are finally solved now
Spotting from now till the 3th week of June is very difficult for me, so I will not propose a date.
We will see what the outcome of the poll on luchtzak.be is
When I have time I will certainly come!
PS: nice try to attract spotters by giving some information of what can be seen on a sunday. But unfortunately, when traffic is really the reason to come, you better put us on a bus to AMS... Spotting at BRU = socialising!

Definitely!
> what are you guys always doing on luchtzak.
I believe that forum participation on A.net is restricted ($), which is not the case at luchtzak. Many Belgian aviation enthusiasts may actually read the A.net topics, however because of the (financial) entry barrier many of them can not actively participate in the discussions. This draws some of the attention away from A.net and diverts it towards sites like Luchtzak. In the meantime Luchtzak has build up some momentum and quite regularly you can find some interesting postings there (at least for Belgian spotters).
I think that Luchtzak can be complimentary to A.net, as long as luchtzak concentrates on its particular niche (which I believe is the Belgian aviation scene). Therefore Luchtzak is more of a regional player (VLM type), while A.net is the global player (Star Alliance type).
Luchtzak is all in English, however I'm a bit wondering how much the name "www.luchtzak.be" appeals to other than the Dutch/Flemish natives.
The amount of registered A.netters that are familiar with the BRU scene may be rather limited.
Is there a way to find out how many "Belgian" members are actually registered on A.net?
I would guess somewhere around 30-40 people.

That's for sure. However the announced BRU spotters meeting is more of a local event, which is probably unlikely to draw much attention from "around the world".

Indeed Established02!
I consider both sites to be very complimentary. A.net is great for global info. Yet Luchtzak is better for local info. For instance I saw recently that TUI were recruiting B767 pilots and that a new airline was inaugurating a new BERN-BRU route. These are 2 articles, just to name a few, that didn't appear on A.net due to the shear volume of info transiting through this site everyday.

We saw that last years we had to divide the topic in 2 or 3 parts as it had such a success, at least more success than the weather we had last year.
So I hope you will all still get connected to A.net, which is in my eyes still the only airliner bible on the net.

Hi MD-11er,
For me basically any date would suit me, as long as it's on a Saturday or Sunday. That way I wouldn't have to take a day off.
Somewhere in the Easter holiday sounds good for me. We set a fixed date, and if it rains, we just go socialising in a pub or maybe we could visit Wingtips or the Army Museum in Brussels City? Anyway, count me in!
By the way, did I miss an MS 777 AND an MS A340? Damn! But, fortunately, I got the Conti 767-400 and Hewa Bora TriStar! Finally got that last one! Those MS planes are for next weekend if weather turns out well (and MS load factors ).

What's wrong with that! BTW I live relatively close to AMS. (45 min. drive at non-peak times) I don't mind to come to BRU for a change. Not that spotting at AMS will ever get bored but I've never been to Saventem in my life. Besides I never saw some of the a/c mentioned at AMS. And it'll be a wonderful opportunity to drive through Westvleteren and buy a new provision of the best beer in the world too.
I can come every weekend but:
-April 3/4 : LHR a.net meet
-Saturday April 17th
-April 24/25 : Flying for fun with FR GRQ-STN-GRQ while I still can. (FR closes this route as of April 28th)
-June 5/6
-July 17/18
I'll be there if non-Belgium a.netters are welcome of course.
PS: nice try to attract spotters by giving some information of what can be seen on a Sunday. But unfortunately, when traffic is really the reason to come, you better put us on a bus to AMS...
Is that the reason I see cars with white license plates and red letters at the spotting places here?
I'm willing to organize a meeting at AMS If there is enough interest.
Happy spotting,
Aviationfreak
I love both Airbus and Boeing as much as I love aviation!

Hey guys,
Any weekend is ok for me, except 8th-12th of April (I'll be in Finland that time). Some Sunday would be nice, however, as the traffic is much more interesting.
