Has anybody heard any more news or rumours on the restart of the Fokker 70 and 100 lines?
I think the the Fokker is a nice little plane but they have to solve that dirty tail problem.

If I am not mistaken. Fokker is bankrupt and out of business. Their hangers in AMS no longer are Fokker's but KLM's. I think.

Some Dutch firm (with an unpronounceable name!) is still providing spares for and maintaining Fokkers worldwide, based in Woensdrecht (excuse my spelling!). Indeed, all Fokker types are still flying, but with all their quirks, I doubt any 1st World carriers will be operating Fokkers by 2010. Even TAM of Brazil, after losing 5 Fokker 100s (3 had fatalities), is already beginning to phase them out, while AA and USAir are in the process of retiring theirs'. They became temperomental, and so did the Fokker 50. Air Nostrum of Spain phased them out in favour of the Dash 8. TAT and Air Inter used operate a few F-100s in France, but I'm not even sure if the latter's are still flown by Air France. The Fokker 70 has maintained a low-profile in all this, and I haven't heard of any (of the few) being returned. The F27 is on its last legs, but I guarantee some will make their 50th birthdays, while the F28 may reach 40 in some cases. They're a close cousin of the DC-9 in that sense!

How do you say "12 months" in Estonian?

The recommencement of Fokker production is not done by the company Fokker itself, but by a new company which is formed mostly by ex-Fokker staff. It is called REKKOF. Nice idea...

I hope they will start production again. Would be a nice thing...

Website with future plans can be found at www.rekkof.nl

And REKKOF is of course... FOKKER backwards...
