Yes, when I flew CLE-LGW there was one in both cities. They take care of whatever you need them to do. They made sure that we had reservations for the Businessfirst showers upon arrival in LGW and they gave us priority passes for immigration in London. I think they will also arrange limo service in London too. It's a very nice personal touch before leaving and when you arrive.

Had the same experience going EWR-NRT last year.. It's a nice touch provided by what is already a class airline.. Especially for those passengers who are going to a new destination for the first time and may need special attention/reccomendations/assistance...

The only experience I've had with them is when they've called to yell at us for upgrading someone or putting someone on the upgrade list on an international flight...both big no no's with Continental!!

Continental International Concierge (CIC) is definitely a very nice touch. I'm sure other airlines have something similar at their hubs, perhaps they just don't call them "International Concierge". CIC used to be a more powerful outfit often looking after all arrangements with BusinessFirst passengers and helping them with hotel stays, cars, flight/ticketing info etc. The hotel I used to work for until last week was one of their preferred hotels to accommodate 'passengers in distress'. We even had a special rate for them. However some of these responsibilities have been taken away from them and have been placed with a newly created department called 'Connect Planning' (i think?). An International Concierge at EWR I spoke to a few months ago said that she wasn't really happy about it but that they were still a great team (which they indeed are). Perhaps an insider can give us more info on what went on....

When CO used to buy blocked seats on VS flights, they would have the concierges to help with CO pax both economy and Upper Class. As CO concierges would not checkin economy VS pax, they would mostly chit chat with the CO Upper Class pax (trying to be helpful ) and escort them to the lounge. I have always felt that the idea of concierges was stolen from VS as they perform the tasks of what dedicated VS Upper Class staff would do. CO even has special uniforms for the concierges - rather dull grey. I worked with most of the CO concierges at BOS, and they all loved working as concierges at the VS desk but then again who would not love working with VS folks? When CO switched their code share agreement they discontinued the concierges for the VS codeshare flights.
