Would anyone have info about the BWIA MD80 at Delta's hangar at DFW?
It has been on site for months. Was it a DL jet purchased by BW? The markings are unique and I couldn't see the logo or registration. Thanks.

N659AA,

The aircraft appears not to move, occupying the same spot for quite a long time. I imagine DL performs C and D checks in ATL.

The aircraft is still in the process of being sold--and has been for a year now. It moves occaissionally around the DL hangar ramp. I've heard that it had been sold a year ago and was at DFW for some checks when the deal fell through--thus keeping it parked at DFW.

The reg. is 9Y-THQ.

I remember there was a post about this same aircraft. I remember something about the aircraft was there for maintainence but that BWIA could not pay for the maintainence. This was during the time that BWIA was very close to bankrupcty it has laid off almost every one in its maintainence department. The airline has since returned to operational profit but now news on whether or not they plan to resume maintaining the 737 themselves.

The plane has been there for longer than a year, it was in the hanger for quite sometime before it went outside.
