Hi everyone-
At the end of this summer (September) I am moving to Orlando, FL and looking for a full-time job while I take night classes (I am putting off the flight attendant deal until I get a degree). Anyway, I am looking to apply to the airlines to work as a gate agent/ticket agent and was wondering how far in advance I should send in an application. If I were to get hired I know I would have to go and be trained (for AirTran in Atlanta, Southwest in Dallas, etc) and would like my start date to be as close to September as possible. How does that all work?

I'd wait until 90 days before you want your start date.
Cust service training isn't that long at either WN or FL (2-3 weeks, I believe). And the interview/application process goes fairly quickly these days....
