hey, anyone knows about LanChile´s new livery? I read that Lan Chile (Linea Aerea Nacional, national air line) now will be just LAN, Latin Airlines Network.
any clues about the tokyo-miami-santiago route?

I agree with Horus. There's simply no better looking livery than the current LanChile one. I seriously doubt they can come close to something as good looking as the current livery.

Indeed, It's known (and already posted in a.net) that the new scheme will have less blue, and the "Chile in the horizon shape" red line will be fuzzed. The chilean national colours red, white and blue will remain as the Lan colours, also the chilean star in tail. Lan people thinks this new c/s will be even better. This week we'll finally know.

You're right LanFan. As for national pride, It always felt good when you were abroad waiting at the airport and saw proudly the "Chile" titles in such a beautiful aircraft... Lan Chile has been chosen more than once the most admired company in Chile, and Chilean are so proud of Lan... We all wish the best for Lan, but still sad and not completely agree they change the c/s and remove "Chile". For 75 years Lan Chile has been "Our Airline", as their official slogan said in the middle 90's

Sorry it will be more than just a "Name Change".The hole livery is different, but in my point of view it is very nice, very modern and I see it also from
a photographer view.
Of course there is much more white but also a lot blue colors as well. Good combination.
It is hard to compare both liveries, the recent one is more classic than the new one.

The actual and "old" LanChile colours are pretty modern I think...so do you mean that the new colours look more modern and trendy? Or do you mean that the actual colours are "classic" in terms of "it's a classic, those colours are known for their beauty", and the new ones being less "LanChile identifying"

I got your point. It is very difficult to explain unless you see both liveries.
In my point of view the current of is one of the best in the world on all type
of LAN A/C and timeless.
The current one is "classic" most airlines paintschemes : 1 color on the top,
1 cheatline(not LAN) x 1 color on the bottom, the paint is all straight .
A current paint version.
The New One: White/Blue/Silver fuselage. White in front with larger LAN titles
kind of billboard titles but not bold.
The back of the fuselage is blue/silver and comes as kind of a wave from the
tail and comes down in the front section of the fuselage.
The tail is blue with reviced Star and small red wave,different to the current
red strip in the tail. No titles on the tail.
Engines are painted white
Sorry but it is difficult to explain the whole thing, but I hope you can understand it.
In my point of view it looks very nice, but there not much left to identify the
plane from "Chile".
But you will see it tomorrow to make up your mind.

I also got a first glance on the new LAN livery via a friend of mine at LAN.
It was a rough blur photo. It's three-coloured (Silver, Blue, White). The tail now is all blue and the blue extends to the lower forward fuselage in a waved manenr like a wedge . The star in the tail is slightly bigger than the earlier one and not so out of shape.
The titles now are just LAN (as all might know by now ) on white ground. The font remained the same.
So, in my eyes, it's not a whole new CID, it's just a livery revision. I like it in a certain way, it looks spectacular although a little too 'designish'. I miss the word 'Chile' in it and understatement! It's a beautiful new livery!
Björn, my photo shows silver painted engines, can there be two proposals or is it just the bad light in my pic?
Sorry, I'm not allowed to post the photo until the official release tomorrow in SCL.
Hope the safetycards change as well, so I will have some new items to collect!!

With engine you might be right due the model is not the best quality Scale 1:600 and I have not seen a photo so far due I had off the day of the presentation.

I agree with you but you have to remind LAN now is a very short name, you know the reason.
So the fuselage looks in that way a little bit empty, at least on the tail they
should remained the LAN title like in the current livery.
