Does NW intend to paint their 747 freighters in the new colors? I hope so, the
freighters look terrible in that bare metal.

the new colour scheme is hardly an improvement over that bare metal, but i too wonder if they are planning on painting the freighters?

I agree that in some lighting the new paint looks somewhat like bare metal on a quick glance but until you see one up close or on a sunny day they are very different. It's seems like a pearlescent silver white. A deep finish. It is really quite striking and very different. I do wonder how it will last. Has to be better than the red/grey did. Management says it will last two years longer and that's hopeful.

At first I was thinking that since several a.netters said it looked like a freighter that the freighters should be left the same to highlight the actual difference. Any ideas?

Last I heard they would remain bare metal, to reduce weight, but seeing that some of them wear fully painted special liveries it dosent make sense.

.....up there with the best!

Repainting the freighters should be simple: replace the silver metallic paint with bare metal, but do everything else the same. I think it should look pretty nice. Hopefully they do one soon.
