Airtran is adding 1 maybe 2 flights from BWI to DFW. Sounds like a good move to me put pressure on AA. Also we are running 717's from DFW-LAS so the extra BWI-DFW will provide as a great T-Point from LAS

BWI seems to be a reliable station when it comes to success on new routes.

Jay, if you're out there, how have the other routes out of DFW worked out load wise? Wouldn't DFW-LAX make sense? They could do it with 717s.

Only one additional daily flight, posted on Yahoo this morning....

Might be targeted at AA, but I think it's more at WN, offering service that WN can't because of the Wright Amendment. I would imagine that WN has market research showing DAL to be on the wish list of their BWI customers....

Thanks for asking Quickmover!

Our loads are doing fine, but as always there is room for improvement. I am extremely excited about the new flight from DFW to BWI in the morning and so is my counter-part up in the BWI area. To really start something between a city pair, you need a least two flights day, we just didn't have any spare aircraft though.

Now from DFW, a client can go up at 8.30 a.m., arrive at 12.35p.m., hold a meeting or do some work, come home on the 7.00 p.m. flight, back in around 9.30 p.m.

DFW-BWI is also a great alternate to DFW-IAD or DFW-DCA. The beauty of BWI is that there is actual train service from BWI into DC. This will also save the cost of a taxi and/or a rental car............

We are not competing at all against WN on this route, TOLtommy. WN would fly DAL to HOU and then up to BWI.........same way on the return. BWI to HOU to DAL. We can do it probably cheaper on a non-stop than whatever the lowest fare on WN would be because you'd have to buy two tickets.

One more thing.........

We are only adding one additional non-stop from DFW to BWI, not two.

Hopefully and very soon, we will start adding service to cities located west of DFW. DFW needs some non-stop, low fare service to LAX, SFO, SAN, SEA, SLC, etc..........

Yeah, it would make additional out of DFW to the west coast anytime soon. If the new B737 is coming in with their new fleet. It would make extra more range to SEA & SFO. It is not enough for the range more than of 1,200 miles to SFO & SEA on the B717 aircraft and it is make better one of those aircraft with B737-700.
