Yesterday at ATL I saw an all white (N769BC) 767-200. I found this picture, dated November 2003 at ATL of this plane (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/464581/L/)
and I was just wondering what it is doing, is DL buying it, selling it?

I thought Delta was trying to cut down on the 200's that they had.

The description of the picture states that the plane belonged to Air Madagascar, so apparently not, although the info could be wrong and this could be the new member of AM's fleet.

I had been wondering about that a/c. I've noticed the tail from Loop Road, and noticed that the plane has been sitting there for a few weeks.

May be a stupid question, but here goes; anybody think DL is planning to incorporate this aircraft into its 762 fleet, even though the 762s may be nearing the end of their careers with the Delta?

It could be one of Ansett's old 762's as there are still 4 or 5 of them sitting here in MEL their tails had been painted white not long ago and there used to be 7 of them, 2 or 3 have departed lately dunno where to though??
The ones left here look exactly like the one in that pic.
We remind passengers all flights are non smoking, if you are caught smoking you will be asked to sit outside on the wing

Thrust,
My guess in relation to that would be that it is between two other carriers, and that DL is going to do some contract work on the aircraft. I believe that Delta's TOC does a good bit of outsourcing work for other carriers. They could even be the ones to paint it. I am sure someone could shine a lot more light on that though.

Folks, that 767-200 belongs to Boeing Aircraft Leasing. Delta just completed an overhaul and repainted it all white, and she is scheduled to be converted to an executive interior. Where the conversion will take place, I don't know. And who it's for, I cant remember. The government of Cameroon seems to stick in my head, but I'm not 100% sure.

No need for guessing anymore...
The B767-216ER that is pictured IS owned by ILFC. It used to be opperated by Air Madagascar as 5R-MFE, but was returned to ILFC on March 14th 2002. It used to be stored at VCV wearing the same C/S as the one in the picture.

Yeah it was a contract we did for ILFC. It is the first one we did for them. Hopefully it will lead to a lot more sightings on our ramp. I also heard it is to be a VIP plane for Cameroon.
