AmericanConnection to Add Saturday-Only Flight From St. Louis to New Orleans; New Service Starts May 1
Tuesday March 23, 11:02 am ET
ST. LOUIS, March 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Airlines is pleased to announce that starting May 1, AmericanConnection will add a new Saturday- only fight between St. Louis Lambert International Airport and New Orleans, which will complement the existing twice-daily service between the two cities.
"The lure of Bourbon Street and the excitement of the Crescent City are making New Orleans a very popular destination for the residents of St. Louis," said Loretta Kuss, American's regional manager - Passenger Sales for St. Louis. "AmericanConnection carrier Trans States Airlines, Inc. will operate a flight that will give passengers the opportunity to leave St. Louis and arrive in New Orleans well in time to go out to dinner on Saturday night."
The new flight will be flown using 50 seat Embraer Regional Jets.
Here is the new flight schedule from St. Louis to New Orleans,
effective May 1:
Certainly no big news, but I am continually surprised that AA is actually committed to their quazi-hub. Once the cutbacks occurred, I thought it was the beginning of the end for STL w/ AA, it doesn't really seem so these days. Maybe if they continue to add flights I'll find the courage to designate STL as a hub! Let's hope another MIA flight is in the works with the recent news of expansion.
