Some or all of the 717's will receive the Jetstar livery....
Rumors suggest (also reported in Air International) that the 717's will go back to Qantaslink after its life with Jetstar to replace the BAe 146 as a interim solution until a definitve type is selected for Qantaslink.

sorry to disappoint classic but Jetstar will only be operating the B717 until end of June when the first A320 comes from Singapore Aircraft Leasing (SALE)
All flights from day one will be B717 till end June.
I forsee 3 x 717 being painted in JetStar colours - the remainder taking some time.

They will have two a/c offline to be painted in full JQ colours prior to the launch. Other a/c will have the QantasLink titles removed in the interim. Full paint may be applied where the schedule allows. This may not be until after the 3rd A320 has arrived.
The 717s will have two more rows of seats fitted. Word is still out on what they will do with the 117 seat a/c (as they can't put in 127 seats - 125 is the max!) and whether or not the TWA slimline seats will be fitted across the fleet. Would certainly help has the older seats are very thick and recline really far! Also IFE will not be fitted nor will the slimline leather seats going on the A320.

"because I haven't had the pleasure of doing a 717 yet."
Hi ClasicLover... the B717's are a nice plane to fly in, as was its "analog" predecessor, the DC-9-30. In Impulse/QFLink config., they are still a "pleasure", but I'm not sure how much of a pleasure they will be in Jetstar config. with different, and very tight seating.
If I were you, I'd buy a ticket to fly on one somewhere before the end of April, before it's too late.
