Hi!

Since the A340-500 has the maximum range of 8,680 nm and the distance between cities like FRA, II International (KRK / EPKK), Poland">KRK, WAW and PRG and Sydney is approx. 8, 480 nm, my question is, can there be non-stop flights between the cities mentioned above and Sydney ? Does any one know? Thanks.

Hello,

Yes it is possible. But one must remember the head winds when flying from Sydney to Europe so that stretches it a bit. Secondly, though possible, such a routing is not feasible because there simply isn't enough traffic between these cities and Sydney. Besides, no European or Australian carrier has purchased the A340-500 for such a route.

Hi!

GuyBetsy1, I think there could be sufficient traffic between Poland and Sydney, considering the Polish population in Australia. But I was just wondering. Thanks.

Hi!

I was just wondering, considering such segments are possible, how long of a flight would it be ... SIA's SIN-LAX, JFK seems like a regional hop compared to this !

Traffic arguably, but yield...? Forget it.

If traffic alone was the deciding factor for C-market route innauguration, then VN would be ordering 772LRs for nonstop SGN-SDF service.  Big grin
