I noticed that both Boeing and Airbus have received only a few orders so far this year. Is this usual? Are orders sort of evenly spread or do they come in bursts during trade shows? If I extrapolate the first 2-3 months of 2004, I obtain rather low numbers for both companies:
Boeing: ~75 orders (17 orders up to March 23)
Airbus: ~55 orders (9 orders up to February 29)
Any reason for this? I thought a 2-3 months sample would be representative, but I guess not.

A lot of orders, and maybe a 7E7 launch customer, will step forward at Faranborough (sorry if I butchered that) this summer. Air shows usually atract lots of orders and the associated buzz/media hype.
