This is a question for the BA bods out there:

I am flying in First on BA2155 from LGW to BGI next Thursday, 8th April.

Can anyone tell me what loads are looking like for this flight?

Also my recollection of the First lounge at LGW is that it is just about the worst lounge I have ever been in- no views, poorly stocked and depressing- I expect that this hasn't changed, as BA operate relatively few long haul services out of LGW.

I normally go down to the First lounge, take one look and head back up to the Terraces lounge which is excellent. Will I be doing the same next week?

Thanks

F class is looking pretty full, but you are seated in 2K (your mate is in 2A). Looks like a great trip, have a nice time.

Cambrian ,

Are you talking about the First Lounge or the Terrace lounge (used for business).

When I flew BA in November 2003 to Barbados I found the First lounge to be very nice indeed. Big windows that look onto the runways and the south terminal, very nice and light indeed.

I was in seat 2A out and 2K return, very nice indeed, though I found the PTV's to be very small! You cant bet the service though.

Kimberly.

Tip, ask for a bacon roll in the First lounge, they are so nice!

Thanks guys!

I imagine that the flight will be pretty busy with the Easter holidays almost upon us.

My recollection of the First lounge at Gatwick is that it offered no views and was quite small and depressing. Last year I was detained by US immigration in Miami (don't ask) and the room that they put me in for 4 hours was nicer!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I agree that the Terraces lounge at LGW is fab! Great views. Never had a bacon roll there- but I have also used the VS clubhouse at LGW- it was really funky and their bacon butties are to die for...

Hey Cambrian

Where Terraces lounge is, take the lifts to the second floor and turn right! There is the First lounge (and the bacon rolls)...

Kimberly.

Hi VS girl,

Thanks for the hint- knowing my sense of direction, I have probably been waiting for my flights in the BA broom cupboard these past years... Smile/happy/getting dizzy D'oh!

Do you work for VS? I would prefer to take them to BGI as I think that their Upper Class product is better value for money- not that I am complaining about BA First- wonder when we will see the new UC suite on the Caribbean routes- about 2012 probably!

I will check out the First lounge that I have been missing, and include it in my forthcoming trip report.

Thanks again.

The F lounger used to be downstairs - not much of a view but great staff.

That has now closed and part of the top floor of the Terraces lounge has been converted into a new F section. I've not flown through LGW since it opened though.
