hi folks,
two questions I could have answered by myself 1 year ago but forgot about it:
a) as a star gold member, will TG gain me access to first class lounges or only business class lounges (holding a c-class ticket on TG)?
b) I've been to thailand last year (FRA-BKK in C, BKK-FRA in F) - their C class was a little unsatisfying (food and entertainment) to me so, do you know, whether they changed anything about it? I'm not even sure, do they have PTV or was there just this video-walkman?

Ben,
I am also holding a TG gold card, If you are traveling in C class, you only will be entitled to use the Royal Executive Lounges at Don Muang.
And now you can use Traditional Thai Massage at the Royal Executive lounges at BKK!

thx AMS!
so for the TG Staff in here (if any), last year I had to upgrade my flight (BKK-FRA) from C to F (payed) at BKK, any other airport office told me, they can't do it.
is this still the way it goes? I'll be flying DPS-BKK-FRA (booked in D-Class all the way through) and would like to upgrade BKK-FRA to F (which can not be done in advance since D fares can not be combined with F at the time of booking).
Where will I have to ask for the upgrade then? BKK or DPS?

Ben,
From my experience call the TG Reservations in BKK, I noticed that many times they may be able to do so, Again some rules within TG are not so clear!
I believe that you can upgr from D to A class, However it seems that almost every TG office has some kind of own rules.
If you have used the free upgrade to D class (gold Card), then you wont be able to upgrade you. However TG overbook their flights quite a bit, so Always present your Gold Card at the Check in/Gate, and TG may upgrade you to F Class
When are you traveling with TG?
I travel TG via FRA quite often?
By the way, the Traditional Thai massage is free of charge!

ben,
which part of TG 747 C class do you like better?, the lower Deck or upperdeck?
you are probely aware that TG has 2 kind of configurations 0f the 747. In CRS systems they are listed as 744 and 747. Normally TG is using the 747, with more seat pitch and space in C and F class.
The Current 744 from CPH configuation has changed, now C class pax will be in F class, and C class will be temporary used as a premium Y class.
Anyway, Yes I let you know when I am passing through FRA!
Do you live in FRA?

well, I prefer the upper deck (especially on LH ) but since it lacks the space for putting my trolley next to me, I usually pick seats in the lower deck to get all my stuff stowed. On leisure journeys (like the one to DPS) I always go for upper deck, 17A.
I live in NUE which is actually 2 hours from FRA (by car) but (almost) all my long-hauls are connecting through FRA.

Yes 17A is a good choice!
its the row just behind the exit seats on the 747!
So you will be through checked in from NUA!
When you fly from NUE I assume you will be on LH, does LH often go to a remote parking stand on flights from NUE?
From AMS is all depends, Normally at the gate, but also often at a remote stand, and then you will be bussed to the terminal at FRA.

remote parking is default in NUE for any kind of turbo prop and small jets (CRJ etc.) - on NUE-FRA, they mostly use 737/A320 or similar aircrafts which are always parked at a gate (max. 1 daily flight is a CRJ).
remote parking for Jets in NUE only takes place for charter flights (mostly air berlin) since they sometimes get ~ 20 flights at one time into NUE which just exceeds the number of gates - and of course, LH gets priority on them .)
