Took a charter USA 3000 BWI- Punta Cana with Apple Vacations, and I was expecting a cattle car. Instead we got a 5 year old A320, leather seats, a hot meal, a Steve Martin movie and flight attendants who were smiling and workin hard. It was the best coach seat flight I've had in A LONG TIME! I think the seat pitch was an inch shorter in the back than in the front, but it was a luxury to not need to connect in Miami, Atlanta, or CLT.

I hope they make a bundle of money and continue their growth. I'm a loyal customer now.

Hi, Barleybo-

I'm glad there's another USA 3000 fan here! I flew the airline from PHL to PUJ and throroughly enjoyed the flights. I was even allowed to tour the flight deck at the end of the flight!

The aircraft I flew (G-BDXC, leased from Thomas Cook, and N260AV, Spirit of Philadelphia ) had cloth seats but were comfortable and tastefully appointed nonetheless.

Great airline, very nice aircraft!

BTW, how did you like Punta Cana? I loved the Dominican Republic (despite its dire economic situation) - I stayed at the Natura Park Resort and took tours of Santo Domingo and, for the kids, Manati Park. Let me say that I heartily recommend USA 3000, Apple Vacations, and Punta Cana.

I have seen USA 3000 here in Montreal, does anyone know what the destination was??? It operated out of Trudeau, not Mirabel like other charters usually do.

Could not help but think of the defunct Canada3000.

Tristar2000,

It is interesting that you said that because the person who owned Canada3000 now owns USA3000

USA 3000 is getting ready to start doing some flights out of ATL this summer. They had an ad in the AJC a few weeks back looking for F/As for the April-September summer flight season out of ATL.

I'll be damned...the ex-Canada3000 President is the current CEO of USA3000.

Actually, USA 3000 is owned by John Mullen, the owner of Apple Vacations and Atkinson & Mullen Travel. He and his family also own A&M Resorts, which operates several of the all-inclusive resorts in and around Punta Cana. Angus Kinnear is USA 3000's president, but not owner.

Fanofjets - Punta Cana is great. It's a good thing you weren't there last week, as the airport got shut down temporarily.

The situation in the DR is terrible, and getting worse. Thankfully, the airport in Punta Cana is privately owned by an attorney in New York, the same guy who owns the Punta Cana Resort and much of the property in the region.

USA3000 is also becoming a carrier at TPA, along with PIE to serve Minneapolis. According to the HCAA's April Board Meeting minutes. Must have been my complaining!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Hey Fanojets and friends,

We liked our resort just fine, the Catalonian. You can't expect that a trip to the DR will be a garden spot outside of your resort. There is not much there. The poverty is there for sure. The trip there, which prompted my first post, was a great start to a great trip. USA 3000 and the Apple Trip were non-stress and a great value.

Does USA 3000 go in/out of seattle? Just curious...

I don't believe so, CWU. Most of their charters are in from the US midwest and east coast. I believe Apple uses other carriers for anything west of St. Louis (ie, Allegiant, Allegro).

I worked on the two TCX Aircraft going over to the USA for winter lease.
We had to increase the seat pitch while the aircraft were at SEN.

Those USA 3000 transfers, didnt take long to put on at all!

For those of you that are interested, the aircraft routed SEN-REK-ORD. Well I think it was ORD, this was a few months back!

Any idea when there going back to TCX?

Regards,
Simon

I also flew USA3000 PHL to PUJ last summer and I must say it was a pleasant experience. I would definitely fly on them again. The price was right too sure beats USairways

To answer a question, you will often see USA 3000's A320 in YUL because we, at Air Canada, do their A checks in YUL. They fly empty from and to YUL.
