I recall that USAir(ways) had a sizable operation in Indianapolis. In 1991 i remember flying them from IND-MCO. But it seems like they fly only to the hub airports and a couple of others. With them being the only operator out of concourse D at IND (with 9 or ten gates), wouldn't it help them to possibly add some new cities...perhaps restart the IND "mini-hub?"
The next generation of aircraft is just around the corner!

7E7, in the curent financial state that US is in, they are in no position to start any type of focus city where they could lose big time. TZ is doing pretty well in IND apparently, and with the other carriers combined, IND's O/D is pretty much satisfied. Speaking of concourse D, remember that there will be a new midfield terminal in the future, so they won't have nine gates for long, I would expect US to take on only 3 or 4 in the future. The new midfield terminal is quite small actually, something like 34 gates.
