Does anyone know why there has been a US Airways 757 parked at MAN for the last couple of days???

It's come out of storage in the USA and is destined for First Choice. At least one other will follow.

If you can catch the reg, you can try to match it up with this info taken off cactuswings last week:

It's N616AU (to be G-OOBJ). Engines should be looked at by Monarch whilst it gets painted.

It isn't due to enter service with First Choice Airways until the end of the summer, October or November 2004. As such it will be a fairly permanent fixture at Manchester until then, any repainting won't be done until all overhaul and refurbishment work is complete, normally that's a couple of weeks before entry-into-service... No point paying for an expensive paint job to have it getting dirty and fading while it sits in Manchester getting rained on for 6 months!
