Hello together,
I have a quick question, a while ago I read that IB will only offer drinks and food for sale on flights within Europe and within Spain. Did they already introduce the food for cash product or do they still serve drinks and food for free?
On Tuesday I will fly to AGP on IB and if they don't offer food for free anymore, I will buy a sandwich from Subway to eat it inflight instead of buying an overpriced sandwich on board.

Hi Patrick,
The Buy on Board concept of IB has already been introduced.
For about 7-8 Euro, you can get a sandwich, a drink and a desert I believe...
The food-cart is on their website... I tried to link the specific URL, but it refers you back to the main page. Just have a look under products and services.

Hi Frederic,
thanks for your quick reply, 7-8 EUR sounds quite expensive, now I will stop at Subway on the way to the airport to buy a large Steak & Cheese sandwich and a coke .

Hi Patrick,
I'm afraid you'd better go and get your sandwich and drink anywhere else but on the plane, Iberia has started a new inflight service since the begining of March, food and drinks are complimentary for business class pax, but economy class pax have to pay for it. They call it "Tu Menu" - your menu, and it is a rather overpriced a la carte service.
They have this new service on all domestic and European routes with the exceptions of Athens and Canary Islands flights where they will implement it in June.

Hi Alfonso,
thanks for the detailed information about IB's new Economy Class service. This will be my first flights on IB and I am really looking forward, despite I have to pay for my food, bring my own food respectively.
Patrick
PS: I hope the weather is already quite warm down in Malaga, I am so sick of the bad weather here in Germany, so I hope to get at least a little bit sunshine during my two days in Spain .

FWIW, I just flew IB MAD-OVD yesterday (Saturday Apr 3rd), and there was no food or drink except their new a-la-carte service (which was advertised by the FA´s during their pre-flight announcement). This was a short 40 minute flight and I was asleep for the first 15 minutes right after take-off, but I don´t think any of the passengers ordered anything, as I didn´t see anyone drinking or eating anything, nor did I see the FA's pick up any trash before landing.
