In an unusual move, Philadelphia's Division of Aviation (DOA) includes WN flights on its latest timetable; which just came out and covers the 2nd quarter of the year (Apr. 1 - June 30). On the airline listings, it does state that WN flights will start on May 9. I believe it only lists the original 14 flights and not the additional 14 flights that will be added in June.

This is unusual because in most cases, the timetables are only updated to what's PRESENTLY on PHL's flight roster. I guess there's much to be said about advance notice and advertising plus DOA's commitment to inform passengers about WN flights.

These timetables are available at all airport service information counters (public side of the airport) and at SEPTA's Market East Regional Rail Station. I'm not sure if these timetables are available at Suburban Station or 30th Street Station. At the train station(s), the timetables are located where one picks up train schedules.

Feel free to pick up a copy.

Wow, I never even knew such a thing existed. I'm assuming it's basically a schedule of all flights in and out of PHL?

I work for SEPTA, and in all my times in Market East I've never seen them in the schedule racks. I'll have to snoop around and see if I can't find one of those.

Joe,

The timetables basically list every non-stop flight that flies in and out of PHL. It also lists 'selected' through and connecting flights.

SEPTA sometimes has the timetables and sometimes they don't. At Market East Station, which I use everyday when I travel to and from work had the previous time tables (which were blue booklets) for about 2 1/2 months. I know that the new ones (which are green and blue in color along with the new PHL-PNE logo) are available as of this morning.

I'm not sure whether SEPTA requests them from the DOA or whether the DOA sends them to SEPTA outright. In the past, I would only see the DOA timetables at Market East around the 4th of July, when the city celebrates its Welcome America festivities.

These timetables can be used to assist spotters.  Big thumbs up

Flyboy7974,

You're right. According to Southwest's website; the additional service won't start until July 6.

The main emphasis on my posting the thread was that this is the first time I can remember that DOA added flights to their timetable that have not yet started. Past PHL timetables only list flights that are current when the table FIRST takes effect; in this case flights that are active as of late March. Needless to say there is small print listing that flights are subject to change.

No doubt, WN's additional services will be listed on the July-September timetable.

I'm sure Herb probably prodded DOA director Charles Isdell to post WN flights in advance.  Yeah sure
