Hi
RG announced yesterday they will bring 777s to SCL. Great news for us as this will be the 3rd 777 serving Chilean skies: AA, AF and now RG. Varig currently uses 767s, MD11s and 737s to Chile, 3 times a week.
My question: How many 777s does Varig have for use them to Chile?, or this is just a strategy for better use rate of the a/c: instead of leave them parked at GRU for night flights, they uses them in mid-range destinations ad GRU-SCL as Lan does it with MIA - UIO.
Saludos,

I think they have already taken delivery of both the 777-236 (ex-BA, K6) but that they are not yet in service.
So it may be possible to see all these four RG 777s in SCL soon or they may only fly one of the two versions there, the 777-200ER or the 777-200.
AA has stopped flying 777s to SCL for the winter season but should return in spring.

I have been hearing that it won't return, and instead AA will once again offer double-daily MIA-SCL starting in December. We'll have to wait and see, though.
