The long awaited NW new paint scheme DC-10 photos are finally here! N226NW was captured by TJ O'Keefe this afternoon. They're in the upload queue as we speak (unfortunately the screeners haven't gotten to them yet).
TJ O'Keefe has allowed scaled down photos of this plane to be posted on www.mspupdate.com. Personally, I think that TJ's photos really capture the plane well. Whether the paint scheme looks good on the DC-10, well that's for you to decide.

I have seen the shots already...The shots look very nice, but I must say that I am not a huge fan of the livery on the DC10. I guess we'll find out what everyone else thinks when the screeners get them.

I think that the DC10 looks great. I give NWA a lot of credit and respect for keeping 2 very old types of planes in service for so long. THe DC10 and the DC9 aver very old but are still flying strong for NWA. I have much more respect for NWA than I had a few years ago. I do hope to fly on some of their planes since I have never flown NW before.

Pass the Pepto... The photography is great but the livery is horrific! The DC-10 looked so graceful in the bowling shoe livery. It now appears as if a fourth grader's cartoon nightmare has made its way to an aircraft. The "NWA" logo is reminds me of the 80's rap group and the NW logo points to the northeast on the starboard side. I know thats been discussed here and many have offered an explanation of "progress" and "where we are going" but any logo that requires interpretation negates the purpose. The silver fuselage is tolerable but the NWA erases the identity of Northwest and the "redtail" logo is about 14 steps backwards.

They should have painted the engines red too. Now that the engines looks a little 'white' in the pic in post #12, we'll probably be seeing alot of soot behind the tail engines thrust reversers. The D10 looks nice but I dont think this livery 'fits' very well. But it looks great on a 753.

Wow! If I didn't know better, I'd say it was a brand new aircraft! That colour scheme makes it look so much better, given it a new lease of life!

Congrats TJ on finally getting it up. I just think that the DC-10 body is too large and rounded for the all silver scheme. I also wish that the red had gone down all the way to #2. But it doesn't look bad. At least it isn't an ugly faded 'pink'.

Wow, its amazing what a decent livery can do! I might be tempted to fly on the beast now rather than avoiding her, the NW DC-10s at LGW normally look so old and tired (what are they like inside?) Same with the new Aeroflot livery - I could even be persuaded to go on a TU-134!!
