Well, after several months of seeing nothing but 737-300's, our lone flight to Denver will switch over to an A318 as of Monday. The 318 was supposed to start flying back here tomorrow but is being subbed by a 319 due to high loads.

The schedule has us seeing a daily A318 throughout the rest of April and through mid-May, then the A319 takes over for the rest of the Summer season. Too bad we won't see the 319 for Jazz Fest, those extra eighteen seats would make a huge difference. Oh well.

I must say, the 733's had a very good reliability rate over the past few months. Really the only delays we saw were ATC related and weather related delays. The baby Boeing's did their job well. They are built like tanks that's for sure.

ConcordeBoy, LAX may be a go for this Fall. Still waiting on the official announcement but it looks good right now. Rvenue management thinks it will work.  Smile

Gigneil, I'm not sure why our airport is so $$$...in particular the landing fees. That is a big reason why we haven't seen a lot of increased flying from several airlines...including Southwest. We are around $4.20 or so per 1000lbs. We need to cut that number in half as far as i'm concerned.

Because of massive overuns in airport construction costs. You have to pay back those bonds. Also, there is less traffic than was originally thought because one of the two hubs at the old airport died. WN leaving and WestJet's death did not help matters, because they held fares down and traffic up (Yes, WestJet was at COS but DEN carriers had to to compete with them - the resulting low fares helped stimulate DEN traffic as well). When you have less traffic, the traffic that is there has to pay more to make the same bond payments.
