I have just got off the plane.....And I couldn't it help but to post this.

The new Terminal in Toronto is by the far the most impressive airport terminal in the world....

If you don't believe me... pay YYZ a visit and see for yourself..... The check in area is very extraordinaire........................

The 3-year old, $5 billion Seoul ICN is not only the most impressive airport in the world but one of the most impressive physical structures in the world.

The materials are unreal as well: Massive quantities of wood, glass, and granite.

DEN is impressive but unfortunately just can't compare. Never been to YYZ.

Size wise I would say BRU, coolest would be ATL, and most hectic would be JFK or LHR!! I love all of em.

I dunno. ICN is cool but DEN's terminal is made out of fabric and paved with Colorado granite and marble.

It also covers some 56 sq mi and features one of the if not the longest commercial runway amongst its 6.

What about the steel-and-glass Kuala Lumpur International? Opened in 1998. It is a bit quiet compared to other major airports but you've really gotta admire the architecture.

Gotta agree the marble fabric, and just the engineering marvel of DEN make it the most impressive.

I just flew thru Seoul and I must say that I was truly impress with the architecture of that airport. Who knows. Maybe it was because I just left that nautical toilet of an airport in New Delhi...

For those poor folks who have not traveled much and believe that DEN is the most impressive airport in world, well, you are wrong.

Denver is not the most impressive.

There are two airports which compete fierecly for this title and they are Kansai and Dubai. They both blow all other airports away.
If you have not been to these two then you don't know what you are talking about.

Seoul Incheon all the way! Read wonderful things about it. ICN Airport Authority even sent me a package detailing almost every aspects of its design and construction. Very impressed with what I read and learned.

I will also say YYZ's T1New is also impressive from the CBC reports I saw few days back.

Dubai Airport is incredible design, the terminal not only being one of the best duty free places to go, has a hospitality place at the top level!

CLK and Kansai are also amazing achievements. And soon Nagoya's new airport shall join. Paris CDG, the futuristic terminal is good too.

When DEN reaches its max expansion plan of something like 12 runways or so, then I'll go ahead and say DEN...as it is now...most of those 56 sq. mi. is empty space...

As for right now, I'm not too sure...tough decision

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I've read the stats on the airport. You have to figure that at 35 bucks a barrell for oil and shipping out over a million barrells of oil a day, the Saudis spared no cost for an airport to serve the Mecca.

I think HKG is really a superb one. It is and airport with an extension in the center. I mean the great facilities at the train station where you get rid of all your luggage and travel to the airport in comfort.

And the airport building itself is perfectly designed for travelers.

My vote goes to HKG.....

Changi won some kind of award for having the coolest interior, never been there though.

Among the places I've visited, I'd say Minneapolis is the best. It looks clean and modern.

KIX gets my vote, without a doubt, wonderful airport. Haven't had the pleasure of flying to Seoul, though, but I'm sure that's also impressive.

My local, STN, is one of my favourites. Very matter-of-fact and easy, but quite stylish with it. Bursting at times, though. I'm very sure we'll be seeing a lot of expansion in the coming years, and hopefully not quite as, um, 'organic' as Heathrow (okay, bloody messy!).

To me LHR is the most impressive, its just so run-down. Recently planes have started using public roads, as the taxiways' are so dangerously covered in pot-holes.

DEN is good, although (like many other airports), they didn't seem to allocate enough space for check-in desks, which results in overcrowding in those areas.

SIN I only saw from arrivals, but looks nice and transit passengers are allowed to disembark it seems.

KUL is nice but a little metallic. Their signage could be a little better too.

DXB I only saw it while changing planes but the decor is very impressive, not to mention the duty free and EK lounge areas.

My vote has to go to Changi in Singapore, I been there 3 times and have loved it every time, place is so clean, people who work there are friendly and its so easy to get around.

Geoffm - you are certainly right about transit passengers allowed to disembark too!

33 KLMflyer: My votes go for: EU: AMS USA: DEN - DTW ASIA: HKG - SIN - KUL - KIX - ICN - DXB
34 Richardw: HKG's Chek Lap Cok is the most impressive. Some of the smaller ones are very good as well, PUF for instance.
