Hi, I am thinking of spending a few hours spotting at Palma Airport (Mallorca) one Saturday. Does anybody know if there are facilities for spectators? If not, can aircraft be clearly seen from the departure lounge?
all information gratefully received, thanks!

BCAL

Spotting is ok from the departure lounge as most stuff has to taxi past.
Would recommend a visit to the car park though, to pole off the stuff on the biz jet ramp and maintenance. Security have never bothered me there think its floor six for the best views. Have fun - i'll be there myself for a few days at the end of next week.

@Speedbirdegjj: that spot interests me as I'm a reg logger: how do you enter that lounge? Is it past the security checkpoint?

Off topic question: does anybody know whether IB at PMI allows to check-in in the early morning for an afternoon flight to BCN (connecting to MAD in the evening)?

Spotting must be easier from the gates I think...

Thanks
Frederic

You can spot the planes from the departure lounge, it is past the checkpoint. Before the checkpoint you can only go to the top of the car park building wich is in front of the airport building.

About the IB check-in in the morning for the afternoon flight I would say it´s possible.

Here is another link to PMI:
