G'day All..
l came across a picture of the first B747-100 delivered to BOAC in May 1970. l know it has just been taken out of service with B.A, but can anyone please tell me which exact day it was delivered in May 1970, and put into service....l was born in May 1970, so l'm just wondering. :-)

Many Thanks...

Will...

Maybe you can find it in the Commercial Aircraft consensus on the net !
Address : http://www.bird.ch/bharms/asr_boei.htm
You'll find there all information about Boeing, DC and Airbus aircrafts + registration numbers. Also all information concerning what happened with the aircrafts after it was written off from their first company...

Not sure on the exact date but I flew on G-AWNA for the first time in April 1971 from JFK-LHR. First Class was superb!

Hi I'm Ben
I was also born in May 1970. I don't know the exact date of the delivery but I know that at that time the 747-100 was an all new airplane. 1970 is the beginning of the widebody era in passenger service.
Will, when we were born Pan Am had 747-100's already!
