Does anyone know if UA's Channel 9 is offered on Skywest CRJ flights operating as United Express?

Is there IFE on United Express CRJs at all?

thanks.  Smile

Last time I flew on a United Express CRJ (10/2003), there was no IFE.

The only way to get channel 9 (or any audio) is to be on a United mainline aircraft.

Channel 9 lets you listen to the pilots talk to ATC, and hear ATC. But it's not always on. Whether Channel 9 is available or not is up to the captain of the aircraft. I just wasn't sure if it was available on United Express CRJs.

ask not what your pilot can do for you, ask what you can do for your pilot

Channel 9 is offered on all United mainline aircraft, at the discretion of the captain.

Channel 9 is avalible, at the captains discretion, on all United mainline aircraft.
IE: A319/320, B737-300/500, B-767 ect..
I'ts not avalible on the RJ's or turbos because well....there no IFE on those planes, unless your flight atendant is doing cartwheels if there so inclined.  Smile

Why wouldn't a Captain turn on Channel 9? What would be his reason for not? Just didnt feel like it one day? Also, if it wasnt on, and you requested it, what sort of answer do you think you'd get?

Some captains don't like to make channel 9 available because of supposed security reasons. Probably the same flight crews that don't want you to know which hotels they overnight at. hehe

Ch. 9 is only available on mainline a/c. On certain a/c it is on Ch. 14.

If I'm not mistaken, "Channel 9" used to be on Channel 14 on Boeing 747-400 aircraft. However, "Channel 9" is now available on its name-sake channel onboard all mainline United Airlines aircraft.
