I heard a rumor that JetBlue is coming to BDL (Bradley international - Hartford/Springfield) This would really make fares in an out of Bradley much more competitive... as of now they are quite expensive. Can anyone substantiate this rumor? When would B6 arrive?

Expensive? How would Jetblue bring down fares in BDL. Just last week you could book Song to FLL or Orlando for $100 Rt. Jetblue wouldn't bring fares down as they are already low enough in the markets they would compete in. They would simply add capacity maybe making more low fares available, but the fares are already down at BDL.
As for the rumor of BDL getting B6, I have no information.
It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

B6 in BDL, I can see it. It is on their proposed list of destinations. If they have the mentality of the legacy carriers then they would open BDL in the next few months and add extensive capacity to drive out Song (similar to what Song and other legacy carriers have tried) BUT JB management runs the airline for profitability (as we'll see from their earnings results on Thursday) and so if their are cities without low-fare service expect to see them their before BDL

Wherever you heard it, it probably doesn't have a whole lot of truth behind it, of coures unless you talked to Neelman. They have publically announced their inentions to enter an underserved SAT market, and that is where I would guess the next destination is. BTW, Where are would they operate? Compete with Song to FLL? No. Compete with UA, WN, and US to the D.C. market? No. Transcon to LGB? Definitely not. Beats me.
BTW, at some point in time, every airport has heard B6 is coming in soon.

In one of the words of our "BigWigs," jetBlue is "gonna be all over the east coast like US Airways" (but turning a profit I hope!). It would be no surprise to see BDL with B6 service but I would guess they're gonna look at more long haul markets until we get the EMB-190. The A320 isn't really made for for short hops such as BDL JFK etc...
Ya never know what corperate is doing tho, SJC and SMF weren't really rumored until like a week before announcing them. I think they must get a real kick when they pull unguessed routes outta the blue, turning legacy carriers on their ear going "what, huh? why didn't we think of that?"
BDL has good O&D traffic, don't worry B6 will be there at some point is just a matter of when.
As for the rumor, sorry but I think it's just wishful thinking.

I haven't heard anything about this, but it wouldn't suprise me at all if they were to fly into BDL eventually. But it probably won't happen until they receive the ERJ190's. The A320 might be too big for that market right now. They may fly from JFK and maybe FLL, possibly IAD but maybe not from LGB. The market is not very large in that region. But any airport can always benefit from having more than one LCC operating from it. Last time I checked, you can find a flight from JFK to FLL for $79 on JB. $100 for BDL to FLorida on Song is not the lowest price one can go!

I agree with Mark777 that BDL will probably have to wait until B6 gets their Embraers. I'm sure BDL is on JetBlue's long-term wishlist but I doubt that anything is iminent. And it would not make sense to fly BDL-JFK at all. It is possible we could see BDL-IAD (sort of competing against WN to BWI), but most likely is BDL-FLorida. This is where any money is even though fares are ridiculously low from Hartford to Florida right now.
JetBlue is pretty good about keeping secrets when announcing upcoming cities so no one really knows. But my best guess is that BDL is still a couple of years away from seeing B6 roll in.
